A fast-growing engineering and technology business specialising in national security, defence and communications solutions is looking to appoint an experienced Bid Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team, taking ownership of the end-to-end bid process across public sector and government frameworks.

Location

Hybrid working; minimum of 3 days per week in the office based in Bristol.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full end‑to‑end bid process from opportunity qualification through to final submission and contract award.
  • Develop bid strategies and compelling win themes in collaboration with capture teams and key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate go/no‑go reviews and support opportunity qualification decisions.
  • Monitor and manage responses to public sector frameworks and government procurement opportunities.
  • Write, review and edit high‑quality, persuasive tender responses and supporting documentation.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, engaging and client‑focused content.
  • Manage clarification questions, procurement portals and client communications.
  • Maintain and develop bid collateral including case studies, CVs, social value responses and rate cards.
  • Maintain bid libraries, knowledge management systems and document repositories.
  • Analyse bid outcomes, conduct lessons learned reviews and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders including technical teams, commercial teams, operational leaders and directors to gather information and coordinate submissions.

Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience managing bids and tender submissions, ideally within the public sector or government framework environment.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience working with technical subject matter experts to develop compelling content.
  • Knowledge of UK government procurement processes and frameworks is an advantage.
  • Eligibility for Security Clearance.
