Joboverview
There has never been a more exciting or rewarding time to join the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Unit at Weston General Hospital.
We are recruiting a Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our growing SDEC team. SDEC operates 7 days a week between 8:00am and 10:00pm, providing rapid assessment, treatment and decision-making for patients, with the aim of improving patient flow and avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions.
As a Senior HCSW within SDEC, you will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality, person-centred care and supporting registered nurses in the delivery of safe and effective patient care (see Job Description).
The ideal candidate will have experience working within an acute hospital or high-care setting and will be confident working autonomously within the SDEC environment, using initiative and sound judgement to support both patients and colleagues. You will need excellent communication skills, the ability to manage your own workload, and a strong commitment to teamwork.
The SDEC service at Weston continues to evolve and expand, offering a fantastic opportunity for an innovative and motivated individual to contribute to the development of the service and patient pathways, helping to enhance patient experience and support delivery of care closer to home.
