This small rapidly growing biopharma consultancy operates at the interface of R&D and commercialisation, partnering with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies across Europe, the UK, and the US. The organisation is trusted to design, optimise, and deliver Medical Affairs infrastructure that is compliant, efficient, and fit for purpose at scale.

The team is made up of experienced doctors, PhD scientists, and life-science professionals with deep backgrounds in both large pharma and biotech. Collaboration, quality, and impact underpin everything they do.

As Head of Medical Operations, you will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of Medical Operations activities across multiple client engagements during a 12-month maternity cover period. This is a senior, hands-on role combining operational leadership, client delivery, and people management.

You will take ownership of the systems, processes, and governance frameworks that enable Medical Affairs teams to operate effectively, compliantly, and at pace, while acting as a trusted partner to both internal consultants and external clients.

• Leading the design and implementation of operational frameworks for Medical Affairs projects.
• Developing and overseeing project plans, timelines, and delivery against client objectives.
• Coordinating operational logistics for key Medical Affairs activities, including medical reviews, document approvals, publication planning, and scientific exchange tracking.
• Line-managing and supporting members of the Medical Operations team, ensuring continuity and performance during the cover period.

You’ll be well suited to this role if you bring:

• Significant experience in Medical Operations, Medical Affairs, or cross-functional project management within pharma, biotech, or consultancy.
• A strong understanding of Medical Affairs governance, compliance frameworks, and operational best practices.
• Experience managing people.
