Pharmacy Senior Assistant Technical Officer

Overview

The Pharmacy clinical trials unit at the Bristol Royal Infirmary is looking for a Senior Assistant Technical Officer (SATO) to join our dispensing team and support our growing portfolio of research studies across the Trust. The role involves working within the trials dispensary and assisting with the running of clinical trials in our two aseptic dispensing units.

• Dispense clinical trial medication and manage associated stock.
• Maintain accurate clinical trial records.
• Work independently while following written procedures.
• Support the Pharmacy clinical trials team and collaborate with staff across the Trust.
• Ensure accurate stock control and dispensing within the Pharmacy Trials Unit and aseptic units.
• Carry out work in accordance with relevant standards and local Standard Operating Procedures.
• Communicate effectively with professional groups, members of the public, and research sponsors.
• Represent the department and the Trust in a professional manner.

• Completed NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or nearing completion).
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to follow written procedures and work independently.
• Effective communication skills.
