Job Title: Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist – Paediatrics

Start Date: ASAP

Working Hours: Full-time

Contract Type: Locum (Fixed-term maternity leave cover)

Shift Pattern: Face-to-face role within standard working hours

Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking an experienced Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join a multidisciplinary team at the Conwy Child Development Centre in Llandudno, part of Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. This locum position is a fixed-term maternity leave cover, offering a rewarding opportunity to work face-to-face with children presenting with communication and dysphagia needs.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting paediatric patients through collaborative care within a well-established MDT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessment and intervention for children with communication and swallowing difficulties
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support holistic care plans
  • Deliver face-to-face therapy sessions in a child development centre setting
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development
  • Support families and caregivers with tailored advice and resources
Requirements
  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (required)
  • HCPC registration (required)
  • Experience in paediatric communication and dysphagia
  • Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within an MDT environment
