About the Role
Due to the ever‑increasing number of treatments and care we offer to patients and true to the career development opportunities we promote, our neat and professional Inpatient Ward has a new permanent requirement for a Healthcare Assistant to join and be part of our friendly, professional, supportive and patient‑focused team, based at our Emersons Green hospital, Bristol.

Shift patterns (rotating, Monday to Sunday):
- 07:00 to 15:00
- 12:00 to 20:00
- 19:00 to 08:00
Pay enhancements are available for working unsociable hours, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
What You’ll Be DoingAs a Ward Healthcare Assistant
, you’ll work closely with registered members of the ward inpatients team, providing a safe and supportive environment for all patients. You will ensure our patients receive high‑standard care by carrying out routine patient monitoring and care duties such as changing bedding and assisting with personal hygiene, basic nursing care practices including catheter fitting and bag changing, and preparing patients for treatments.
You will also collect patient information for admissions, discharges and follow‑up calls, and maintain paperwork across departments.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining health, safety, and hygiene standards, monitoring for hazards, supporting stock and equipment management, and reporting issues to the department manager.
What We’ll Look ForYou should have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling and be comfortable in a challenging yet rewarding environment. Experience in a care home, hospital or clinical setting is preferred, along with completion of NVQ Level 1 and 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, and a Basic Life Support Certificate or Care Certificate. If you do not hold these qualifications, willingness to undertake the required training is essential.
Computer literacy, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to adapt across varied departments are required.
