You’ll have the opportunity to use your clinical expertise and creativity to develop and deliver tailored treatment programmes, helping individuals improve their independence, wellbeing and quality of life. Working autonomously, you’ll provide evidence‑based interventions while playing a key role in supporting safe and effective discharges.

As part of our multidisciplinary team, you’ll work closely with GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Support Workers and Social Workers, all committed to delivering outstanding care through our "home is best" philosophy.

Main duties of the job
  • To perform occupational therapy assessments, to aid diagnosis and treatment of patients who may have diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions; including orthopaedic, vascular, neurological, cognitive problems.
  • To assist in the discharge planning process as part of the wider MDT.
  • To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working with supervision where required. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training, regular clinical supervision sessions and access to informal supervision from senior staff.
  • To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
  • To provide support/supervision for the occupational therapy students, assistant practitioners, rehab support workers and activities co‑ordinator.
  • To assist Senior therapists in service development, including the development of group

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and registered with HCPC
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) maintained in portfolio
  • Evidence of Postgraduate study/course
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • Able to make clinically reasoned judgement when working with a variety of conditions
  • Able to work autonomously, and ability to know when to seek appropriate advice / guidance from senior staff
  • Able to adapt communication for individuals with communication difficulties
  • Community work demonstrating a broad range of clinical undergraduate experience
  • Experience of the application of health, safety and risk management policies
