NHS Donor Carer Jobs UK 2026 – Amazing Visa Sponsorship Opportunity Donor Carer – NHS Blood and Transplant (Visa Sponsorship Available) About the Role

NHS Blood and Transplant is recruiting Donor Carers to support life‑saving blood donation services across the UK.

This rewarding role is ideal for friendly, compassionate individuals who enjoy working with people. No previous healthcare experience is required—experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or volunteering is equally valued.

Visa sponsorship is available for the full‑time position.

Contract Details
  • Full‑time:
    75 hours per fortnight (average of 4 days per week)
  • Part‑time:
    56.25 hours per fortnight (average of 3 days per week)
  • Fixed‑term contracts:
    12 months
  • Typical working hours:
    Sunday to Friday, 10:00 am – 9:00 pm
  • No night shifts
Key Responsibilities

As a Donor Carer, you will:

  • Welcome and support blood donors throughout their donation journey.
  • Deliver excellent customer care and reassurance.
  • Register donors and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor donor wellbeing before, during, and after donation.
  • Safely handle blood products and medical equipment.
  • Prepare donation sessions and assist with set‑up.
  • Drive NHS equipment vehicles after receiving full training.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure a safe and efficient service.
Skills & Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience working with the public.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • A willingness to complete the Skills for Health Care Certificate
    .
  • A full UK manual driving licence with no more than six penalty points.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to delivering outstanding care.
