Salary: £39,959 - £48,117 per annum, pro rata for part time roles
We are seeking an experienced MRI Radiographer to join our MRI team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). This role is ideal for a motivated radiographer with expertise in adult and paediatric MRI imaging who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care.
You will play a key role in providing a high-quality, patient-centred MRI service across our hospital sites, working closely with the MRI Modality Lead and Band 7 MRI Leads. Experience in Cardiac MRI is essential and support will be available for further development within this specialist area.
As a Band 6 MRI Radiographer, you will:
- Deliver a comprehensive MRI service for both adult and paediatric patients, producing high-quality diagnostic images.
- Maintain excellent technical and clinical standards within MRI practice, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.
- Work collaboratively with radiographers, radiologists, medical physics teams, ward staff and other multidisciplinary colleagues to support efficient service delivery.
- Participate in the development of MRI services, contributing to quality improvement initiatives and keeping up to date with advances in MRI practice.
- Administer contrast agents and undertake IV cannulation in line with departmental protocols.
- Support and supervise student radiographers and act as a role model for professional practice.
- Contribute to the extended-day service by working evenings, weekends and participating in the 24/7 MRI on-call rota for adult and paediatric non-cardiac emergency imaging.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To develop and maintain excellent technical and clinical competency in general and paediatric MRI, leading on to cardiac MRI.
- To be aware of current MRI safety regulations under the guidance of the MRI Safety Officer.
- To support the Radiographic Assistant team where necessary.
- To maintain the professional, technical and patient care standards.
- To liaise with Radiographic, Radiological, Clerical, Theatre and ward staff to manage workflow.
- To participate in the extended day and weekend rota and MRI On
- Call rota. - To liaise with, and support, clerical staff in the booking and preparation of patients, with special attention to those patients who have special MRI safety considerations.
- To actively monitor equipment performance and report any faults to the MEMO or the manufacturer as appropriate and to ensure that staff are aware of any faults
- Respond quickly to any complaints / concerns.
- Keep up to date with developments within the MRI field (CPD)
- To ensure that Local Rules and Standard Operating Procedures are kept up to date in conjunction with Medical Physics.
