At Peter's Hill, we support a group of people with learning disabilities, mental health diagnoses and complex needs to live fulfilling, independent lives in a warm and vibrant shared setting. With thirteen single occupancy apartments, this is a service dedicated to a person-centred approach. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Area Manager to provide the highest possible standards of support to service users while leading and developing services in line with organisational objectives and regional strategies.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality, person-centred support, effective service delivery, regulatory compliance and service development. About the Role Reporting to the Assistant Director Care and Support (Learning/Intellectual Disability & Autism), the Area Manager will act as the Registered Manager for the service, ensuring compliance with RQIA regulations and minimum standards. The post holder will efficiently manage budgets and voids, identify new opportunities for growth, secure commissioning arrangements and work autonomously with initiative.

The Area Manager will:
Support staff to develop and maintain trusting and professional relationships with service users and act in a supportive and empathetic manner. Promote and develop good relationships with service users, their friends and relatives, and between service users and staff. Ensure service users have access to opportunities for involvement in a range of activities both within and outside the service. Promote the principles of personalisation and service user involvement.

Facilitate liaison with Health and Social Care Trusts and other relevant agencies. Be responsible for safeguarding practices, safe medication management and risk management planning. Manage, support and develop staff through supervision, training, performance management and professional development. Contribute to the development of departmental strategy and support the continuous improvement and growth of services.

Essential Criteria Applicants must meet one of the following qualification pathways: A Professional Social Work qualification and registration on the appropriate part of the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) register without condition; OR a first level registered nurse on the appropriate part of the Nursing and Midwifery Council register; OR a qualified Occupational Therapist registered with BAOT; AND a minimum of four years' experience working in a health or social care setting providing services to people with a learning disability, including at least two years in a relevant operational management capacity involving staff supervision and financial management.

OR A QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults Management) Wales and Northern Ireland and be registered, or eligible for registration, with NISCC; AND a minimum of five years' experience working in a health or social care setting providing services to people with a learning disability, including at least two years in a relevant operational management capacity involving staff supervision and financial management.

You must also:
Have experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required. Hold a full current driving licence and have access to a car. Business insurance will be required for this post. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals for applicants with a disability who cannot hold a driving licence.
