Role Description Department

The International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility (IRPM) department makes up part of the Global Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions Directorate and has around 50 York-based and offshore staff working in four key areas: international student recruitment; global partnerships, short courses, and study abroad.

The International Recruitment team within IPRM is responsible for developing a strategy to achieve substantial growth in overseas recruitment to grow our international student population at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and dynamic Regional Manager to join our team to help drive the delivery of our regional student recruitment strategy. The role will primarily focus on North American markets with some potential for work in Europe. The key purpose of the role is to initiate, plan, and execute recruitment activities, promote and develop brand awareness, maintain positive stakeholder relationships, and identify market opportunities for the University of York in the designated markets.

One particular focus of the role will be to lead the implementation of recruitment strategies, manage school networks and foster internal relationships to bolster recruitment in Canada and the US. Reporting to the Deputy Head of International Recruitment (Americas, Middle East, Europe, Africa) you will work collaboratively with teams basedin York and in the US to meet recruitment targets and deliver a high level of service to internal and external stakeholders.

Skills,

Experience & Qualification needed

Educated to degree level and with experience in an education marketing or student recruitment role, you will be an excellent communicator able to develop sustainable relationships and influence a range of people of differing backgrounds and seniority. This role will suit a candidate who is organised, adaptable and can exercise initiative to work independently on a range of different tasks for sustained periods of time.

Previous experience of working in international student recruitment would be an advantage.

This post involves extensive contact with international stakeholders, so the ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends and unsocial hours is essential.

This is a York, UK-based role. We are seeking candidates who are able to work from our York location. Current policy is to be on campus one day a week minimum - with the ability to flex as necessitated by the demand of the role.
