HR Manager

About the Role An established public sector organisation is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead its Human Resources function and deliver a comprehensive, high-quality HR service across the organisation. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will provide both strategic and operational HR leadership, ensuring the delivery of a legally compliant, customer-focused and best practice HR service. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working across the full employee lifecycle, leading organisational change and partnering with senior leaders to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the organisation's Human Resources service, providing strategic and operational HR leadership. Advise senior leaders and managers on complex employee relations matters, employment legislation and organisational change. Lead restructures, consultations, disciplinary, grievance and redundancy processes. Develop, review and implement HR policies and procedures in line with current legislation and HR best practice. Build strong working relationships with Trade Unions and key stakeholders across the organisation.

Lead learning and development initiatives, employee engagement programmes, and the equality, diversity and inclusion agenda. Oversee recruitment, job evaluation, HR systems, workforce planning and contractual changes. Prepare reports and provide professional HR advice to senior leadership and governance committees. Manage HR budgets, performance and continuous service improvement initiatives. Lead, coach and develop the HR team to deliver an efficient, customer-focused service.

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
Significant senior-level HR generalist experience. Proven experience managing complex employee relations cases and organisational change programmes. Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practice and organisational development. Experience leading HR teams and building effective relationships with senior stakeholders. Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment. CIPD Level 7 qualification (Chartered Membership desirable).
