Initial 3-month Temporary Contract Are you an experienced Employee Relations professional looking for an opportunity to influence organisational outcomes, support complex people matters, and shape future people practices? We are partnering with a large, high-profile public sector organisation in Greater Manchester to recruit a Senior People Advisor into a newly redeveloped People function. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation undergoing transformation, where you will play a key role in delivering expert employee relations advice, supporting organisational change, and developing policies that create positive workplace experiences.

The Role As a Senior People Advisor, you will act as a specialist employee relations practitioner, managing complex casework while partnering with managers and senior stakeholders to deliver fair, consistent and legally compliant people solutions. Working closely with wider People colleagues, you will provide expert guidance across a broad range of employee relations matters, support organisational change activity, contribute to policy development, and utilise workforce insights to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities Lead and manage complex employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, capability, conduct, attendance and dignity at work matters. Provide coaching and guidance to managers on people management issues, helping build capability and confidence. Support investigations, hearings and appeals, ensuring best practice and procedural compliance. Develop, review and implement people policies, procedures and guidance. Research employment legislation, case law and emerging best practice to inform policy and decision-making.

Support organisational change initiatives, restructures, consultations and transformation programmes. Work collaboratively with trade unions and key stakeholders across the organisation. Analyse employee relations data and workforce information to identify trends, risks and opportunities. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across employee relations services, systems and processes. Essential Experience Significant experience managing complex employee relations casework independently. Experience advising and influencing managers within a unionised environment.

Knowledge of organisational change, consultation processes and workforce transformation. Strong understanding of employment law and employee relations best practice. Experience building effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Ability to utilise people data and management information to identify trends and inform decisions. Experience using HRIS or People systems to manage casework and workforce information. Understanding of equality, inclusion and impact assessment principles.
