About the Role

As a Cloud Architect at Hawk‑Eye, you'll be responsible for ensuring we get the best out of our cloud based solutions as we continue to migrate from on-premise systems to cloud infrastructure. You'll work closely with our infrastructure (Dev Ops) and development teams to design, implement, and optimise our new cloud architecture to meet key requirements such as scalability, security, and highly available solutions.

The role will involve influence over the whole breadth of the business, but the main focus would be on our media solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end migration of our media workloads to AWS
  • Contribute, define and implement cloud architecture solutions
  • Design, implement, and optimise scalable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions
  • Work closely with stakeholders to establish requirements and create innovative cloud solutions that meet the required architectural scope
  • Provide oversight and architectural leadership to drive consistency and maturity of cloud solutions across Hawk‑Eye
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration and interoperability of our cloud solutions
  • Share cloud knowledge and best practices with colleagues, and mentor team members as needed
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

Essential:

  • Demonstrable experience leading successful AWS migration projects and projects from architecture through to deployment
  • Experience in cloud architecture with AWS or other cloud providers using core services such as compute, storage, databases and serverless (e.g. EC2, S3, RDS, Dynamo

    DB, Lambda, etc.)
  • The ability to weigh up multiple solutions to a problem against different priorities, e.g. security, performance, maintenance, cost and time
  • A broad technology background and the ability to articulate architecture approaches and decisions to technical and non‑technical audiences alike
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal), collaboration, and problem‑solving skills

If you have any of these, bonus points:

  • Experience in sports technology or media or data-driven industries
  • Experience of Security, GDPR and PII data handling principles
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Proficiency in one of the following areas: data engineering tools and technologies (Java, SQL, ETL, etc.), software development design and deployment background for live video or data processing solutions
  • Familiarity and experience with implementing and designing solutions with data processing (ETL), machine learning and data analytics tools
  • Experience with automation, CI/CD, and configuration management tools (e.g. Terraform, Cloud Formation, Jenkins)
  • Knowledge of networking, security, and IAM best practices
  • Knowledge of other cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP)
  • Cloud Certified Solutions Architect - Minimum Associate certified (AWS, GCP, etc)
