Senior Data Scientist | Lead Data Scientist | Machine Learning | Cloud Computing | Data Engineering | SC Cleared or Clearable | 2 days a week
Base pay range: £85,000 plus 15% bonus
Role descriptionI am currently working with a brilliant consultancy with deep expertise in their field of Data and Cyber Security solutions, predominantly with Central Government organisations but they also have strong ties with Defence and Telco. They have experienced impressive growth over the last few years and as a result they are involved in some of the most challenging yet rewarding large scale technical projects in the country.
They are currently looking for a Senior or Lead Data Scientist. This will be a blend of client-facing skills (ability to understand business problems, create novel models/solutions, and communicate the solution clearly) combined with strong analytics/machine learning skills and a base understanding of engineering principles. The role focuses on being the main point of contact for major clients and providing technical leadership of the wider team across various projects.
Responsibilities- Serve as the main point of contact (POC) for major clients, understanding business problems and delivering data-driven solutions.
- Provide technical leadership to the wider team across multiple projects.
- Translate business problems into actionable analytics and machine learning solutions; communicate findings clearly to clients.
- Manage client relationships, projects and technical teams (essential).
- Conduct deep analysis and extract actionable insights from often unstructured large datasets.
- Work with machine learning models and related analytics tooling.
- Maintain awareness of cloud platforms and deployment considerations.
- Understand CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and related orchestration tools (preferred).
- Be eligible for SC clearance (5 years in the UK without leaving for longer than 3 months) and willing to obtain for this position; current or previous SC clearance preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of Python and the supporting machine learning and analytics tools.
- Client-facing experience with the ability to relay complex solutions simply to clients’ needs.
- Experience managing client relationships, projects and technical teams.
- Experience of deep analysis gaining actionable insight from often unstructured large datasets.
- Experience working with machine learning models.
- Experience with mainstream cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP (preferred).
- An understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Docker and associated orchestration tools (preferred).
- SC clearance eligible (5 years in the UK with limited absence).
