Security Operations Analyst – Bristol Office

At Pax8 we’re looking for a proactive and detail oriented Security Operations Analyst to join us in our Bristol office to help protect our systems, partners, and people from evolving cyber threats. If you’re passionate about cybersecurity and thrive in a fast paced, collaborative environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

As our Security Operations Analyst you will triage and respond to cybersecurity events throughout the day, performing in depth analysis, escalating incidents when necessary, and supporting remediation efforts – particularly with users in compatible time zones.

You will analyse and prioritise detected vulnerabilities, monitor threat intelligence to determine its relevance to Pax8 and our Partners, and configure and oversee SaaS security controls. Working closely with the wider Security Operations team and cross‑functional colleagues, you’ll play a key role in strengthening our overall security posture!

Day to Day
  • Protect what matters most – Monitor security alerts and incidents, triage effectively, and drive timely remediation while clearly documenting your findings.
  • Investigate with impact – Perform forensic analysis to assess risk and safeguard Pax8’s business operations.
  • Prioritise what counts – Identify and assess vulnerabilities, focusing teams on the risks that matter most.
  • Turn intelligence into action – Analyse threat data and deliver clear, business‑relevant insights.
  • Streamline and strengthen – Improve runbooks and build automation to enhance our Security Operations capabilities.
  • Be a trusted advisor – Communicate vulnerability and threat insights clearly across the organisation.
  • Measure success – Produce metrics that support and advance our Trust and Security initiatives.
  • Stay ahead – Continuously learn and evolve our security program to meet emerging threats.
  • Collaborate widely – Partner across teams to embed security into every part of the business.
Qualifications
  • Significant experience in a security‑specific operations or engineering role.
  • Experience in the Microsoft security suite of tools including Defender, Entra, Compliance Center, and Intune.
  • Knowledge of industry standard DLP tools such as Microsoft Purview (ideal).
  • Understanding of Terraform or other cloud deployment technologies.
  • Experience supporting a SaaS security solution or enterprise browser environment including risk‑based prioritisation and control configuration.
  • Other experience should include one or more of these areas:
Vulnerability assessment and management, identity management, or threat intelligence activities.
  • At least two years of experience in L2 or higher incident response, forensic analysis, remediation, and risk‑based prioritisation efforts including technical remediation in corporate enterprise environments.
  • Operational experience in securing public cloud deployments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP either directly or through use of CSPM tooling is beneficial.
  • Experience using a major SIEM product, including the ability to construct ad‑hoc searches and perform analysis in related tools.
  • Understanding of security best practices and frameworks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills will be a requirement.

In order to fulfil this role you should be resident in this country with a valid right to work.

We encourage you to apply for a role at Pax8 even if you don’t meet 100% of the bullet points! We believe in cultivating an environment where there are a diversity of perspectives.
