About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Environment Management SME to lead the design, automation, and optimisation of cloud environments across a dynamic financial services landscape. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional engineering teams to build and maintain scalable, secure, and observable cloud infrastructure on AWS — enabling reliable delivery and operational excellence.

, ideal for a senior Dev Ops or Cloud Engineer who thrives on building robust platforms, mentoring teams, and driving best practices in observability and environment management.
- Design, implement, and manage AWS‑based environments using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Build and maintain observability platforms leveraging Datadog and Geneos for end‑to‑end monitoring, alerting, and insights.
- Champion Git Ops methodologies using Git Lab CI/CD
, ensuring consistent, automated, and auditable deployments. - Collaborate with development teams to embed reliability, scalability, and performance into the delivery lifecycle.
- Lead cloud cost optimisation initiatives aligned with Fin Ops principles.
- Oversee incident response, conduct root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement.
- Mentor engineers and influence the adoption of SRE best practices across the organisation.
You’re a technically strong Dev Ops/SRE professional with a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and observability. You combine hands‑on engineering expertise with the ability to drive strategy and mentor others.
Qualifications- Strong hands‑on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, Cloud Watch, EKS, ECS).
- Proven ability to build and manage infrastructure using Terraform (IaC).
- Advanced knowledge of Datadog and Geneos for monitoring and alerting.
- Proficiency with Git Lab CI/CD and Git Ops workflows.
- Strong scripting skills in Python and/or Bash
. - Solid Linux and networking knowledge.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
. - Excellent problem‑solving and collaboration skills.
- AWS Certifications (e.g. Solutions Architect, Dev Ops Engineer).
- Experience defining SLOs/SLIs and applying SRE principles.
- Exposure to multi‑cloud or hybrid environments.
- Background in financial services or other regulated sectors.
- Work on high‑impact projects in a leading financial services environment.
- Collaborate with top‑tier engineering teams on cutting‑edge AWS and observability platforms.
