Sybase DBA

Sybase DBA - Contract (Inside IR35) - 6 Months My client a leading global bank are looking for an experienced Sybase DBA to join their team. This role supports mission-critical environments and requires strong expertise in Sybase ASE and Replication Server within fast-paced enterprise settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer, configure, and maintain Sybase ASE and Replication Server environments Perform upgrades, patching, migrations, and platform transitions (RHEL7/8 RHEL9) Monitor and optimise database performance, resolving bottlenecks, deadlocks, and query issues Manage backup, recovery, and high-availability/DR solutions Provide L2/L3 production support and assist development teams Automate routine tasks and maintain robust documentation and compliance standards Participate in on-call support rotation

Required Skills:

5 years' Sybase DBA experience (ASE & Replication Server) Strong SQL tuning and performance optimisation expertise Experience supporting 24/7 production environments Solid Unix/Linux and scripting skills Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills Desirable:
