Infrastructure Specialist (2nd/3rd Line Support) – Contract - Filton
About Your Role
As the Infrastructure Specialist, you will maintain and administer infrastructure services, systems, applications and configurations and related hardware in accordance with clients standards and industry best practices. Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving system, software and hardware problems. Supports front line IT staff in complicated infrastructure related matters.
- Document, track, monitor, and communicate problems and business risks to ensure timely resolution and compliance.
- Deliver infrastructure services to agreed SLA.
- Troubleshoot /resolve problems associated with the infrastructure environment.
- Work with hardware/software vendors to resolve technical support issues.
- Coordinate and work with global architects and other regional Data Center teams to ensure infrastructure and systems meet our clients standards in regards to functionality, security, and maintainability.
- Deploy industry best practice approaches and standards.
- Procure and replace hardware components when required.
- Actively monitor the system infrastructure to manage business systems and security risks.
- Actively work with automating the IT infrastructure delivery.
- Work with the following Key Processes:
- Event Management – monitoring, measuring against SLA, triggering and reporting.
- Incident Management – log all incidents and resolve as quickly as possible.
- Change Management – process approved changes from Build into Run.
- Request Management – manage all requests to resolution or escalation.
- Asset & Configuration Management – manage resources and configurations required to deliver services to agreed SLA.
- IT infrastructure experience.
- An ability to follow processes.
- Self-driven with a motivation to succeed and provide world class services to the business.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Experience working in a high availability, high demand environment.
- Able to work effectively in a virtual team environment.
- Windows Server – proven, in-depth experience.
- Active Directory – proven, in-depth experience.
- Power Shell – strong advantage; experience with automation is a big plus.
- Azure local, maintenance, and patching.
- Azure / EntraID.
