DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a Dev Ops Engineer to join our Digital & Data team in Bristol. This role focuses on cloud, automation and continuous delivery practices, enabling teams to build, deploy and operate scalable digital services across water, transport, defence and government sectors.

• Design, implement and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across development, test and production environments.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and automated software delivery.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to improve workflows and deployment practices.
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation.
• Support containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Strong knowledge and experience in AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Expertise in CI/CD tools and automation frameworks such as Jenkins, Terraform or Ansible.
• Experience with microservices, containers and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as ELK Stack or Cloud Watch.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues in complex environments.

• Full‑time, permanent, hybrid role (2–3 days a week in Bristol, with occasional business travel within the UK).
• UK security vetting at DV (developed vetting) level required.
