Job Description Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Information Manager to join the Asset and Information Management team within their Infrastructure division. This role offers flexible location options across any of their UK offices. The position is part of a strategic push to lead the construction sector in digitization, digital engineering, and innovative data management for large‑scale infrastructure programmes.

As a global consultancy, the firm is focused on delivering transformative projects that bridge the gap between people, data, and technology. You will contribute to a vision that moves beyond traditional design by integrating digital twinning, smart cities, and data science. The ultimate goal is to engineer a more resilient, net‑zero future by pushing the limits of how technology can improve the built environment.

Your role

We are seeking innovative, collaborative experts with a deep understanding of digital technology and information management to lead key programmes in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sectors. You will work with clients to champion user‑focused discovery and BIM/IM systems, driving real value across the asset delivery lifecycle. We welcome diverse backgrounds—from civil engineering to computer science—and are looking for passionate individuals ready to transform industry workflows through the strategic application of technology.

You will be motivated, excited and a team player with many of the following attributes:

Technical
  • An ability to rapidly align to client need, delivery capability and design requirement to develop an Information Management and Digital Strategy for our Clients and delivery teams that is tangible, deliverable, and will deliver value to our client and project team.
  • A good understanding of the principles of Information Management functions as outlined in international standards (EN ISO 19650), familiar with the Government’s BIM Strategy and can bring knowledge and experience of implementing and developing BIM within a project environment.
  • Programme level management of multiple work package teams to ensure the successful delivery of high‑quality data to our clients.
  • Advisory and delivery capabilities in developing and enabling a technology stack (CDE and wider) strategy, then ensuring it is implemented and used across our client and supplier teams.
  • Ability to design the necessary workflows and processes to ensure adoption of technology across delivery supply chains. This might include traditional ‘BIM’ technologies, utilization of GIS data environments, or adoption of collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Teams, Miro/Slack/Trello).
  • Ability to guide, advise and enable project set up support – for example, BEP development and implementation including establishing project related processes, protocols and CDE arrangements.
  • Ability to work across the broader business to ensure successful discipline integration around Information Management and technology development. This will include reach‑back to our other technical experts in BIM, GIS, digital engineering, automation, machine learning and design.
  • The drive and ambition to stay informed of digital tools developments within the wider business and identify opportunities for transfer of tools, knowledge, and skills.
Behaviours
  • Intensely collaborative, understanding that AtkinsRéalis, our supply chain, our partners in delivery, and our clients are one team – you are the voice and champion of that whenever you represent our business.
  • Commercial awareness, ability to tailor strategy and technical requirements to company demands.
Delivery focus
  • Ability in the delivery of user‑centric customer discovery with focus on delivering best practice in Information Management.
  • Willingness to lead change management processes.
  • Driven to pursue continued education in BIM and connect with wider internal and external industry community.
  • Experience in providing BIM/IM consultancy services including technical advice and guidance.
  • Experience in the application of agile delivery methodologies to manage and maintain delivery strategies for project teams and clients.
