I’m working with a Top 50, highly ranked UK firm that is looking to hire a Technology Senior Associate at 7+ PQE for its growing Bristol team.

The role offers a particularly broad mix of work, with data protection forming a key part of the caseload, alongside technology projects, digital transformation, cyber, AI and wider commercial matters.

The Role

You’ll join an established and growing Technology team advising a broad range of clients, from major international technology businesses through to large corporates and organisations deploying technology across their businesses.

The work includes:

• Data protection and ePrivacy

• Technology and digital advisory

• Digital transformation projects

• Technology procurement and outsourcing

• Software and technology licensing

• Cyber and data security

• Artificial intelligence and emerging technology

• Commercial collaborations

The client base spans a number of sectors, including Financial Services, Energy, Transport, Defence, Retail, Health and Real Estate.

Data protection will be a particularly important part of the role, making this a strong opportunity for someone who wants to continue developing their privacy expertise while remaining exposed to a much wider range of technology work.

You’ll also work closely with Partners and other senior lawyers on key client relationships, while supporting and developing more junior members of the team.

What they’re looking for

• 7+ PQE, although relevant experience is more important than the number

• Experience across Technology, Commercial, Data Protection, Outsourcing, Procurement, Digital Transformation, Software Licensing or Cyber

• Strong data protection experience would be particularly relevant

• Commercial and pragmatic approach to client advice

• Confident managing complex and varied workloads

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• Someone who is keen to develop their expertise in areas such as AI, innovation and digital advisory
