You’llhelpensurecriticaltechnologyservicesremainsecure,resilientandreliable,whilesupportingthedevelopmentoftheteamandthecontinuedevolutionoftheorganisation’sITestate.
You’lltakeresponsibilityforcoordinatingateamofinfrastructureprofessionals,maintaininghighservicestandardsandprovidingsenior-leveltechnicalsupportacrossapredominantly
Microsoft-based environment.
Workingcloselywiththe Infrastructure&Security Manager,you’llhelpshapetechnicalpriorities,supportstrategicinitiativesandensureinfrastructureservicescontinuetomeetoperationalandsecurityrequirements.
Keyresponsibilitieswillinclude:- Coachanddevelopteammembers,supportingtechnicalprogression,performancemanagementandknowledgesharing.
- Coordinateteamrotas,holidaycoverandon-callarrangementstomaintainserviceavailability,including out-of-hoursincidentresponseandplannedmaintenance.
- Remain hands-onwiththird-line support,infrastructurechanges,troubleshootingandtheimplementationoftechnicalimprovements.
- Workcollaborativelywithservicedesk,applicationsandwidertechnologycolleaguestomaintainreliableandresponsiveITservices.
- Supportchangemanagementprocesses,includingchairingchangeadvisorymeetingswhenrequired.
- Identifyopportunitiestostrengthensecurity,improveoperationalefficiencyandenhancetheresilienceofcoretechnologyplatforms.
- Helpmaintaineffectiverelationshipswithexternalsuppliersandtechnologypartners.
You’llbringastronginfrastructureengineeringbackground,confidentleadershipskillsandtheabilitytobalanceoperationalresponsibilitieswithlonger-termimprovements.
Essentialexperienceandskills:- Extensive hands-onexperiencewith
Microsoft
Azure,includingvirtualmachines,virtualnetworks,loadbalancingandcloudstorage. - Strongknowledgeof Windows Server ,Hyper-Vandhybridinfrastructureenvironments.
- Experiencewithnetworkingtechnologies,includingswitching,Wi-Fi,SD-WAN,firewallsandVPNs.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID,Active Directory,Conditional Accessandmultifactorauthentication.
- Knowledge of Microsoft
365services,including
Exchange
Online,Teamsand Share Point Online . - Experiencesupportingcomplextechnicalincidentsandprovidingthird-lineinfrastructuresupport.
- Previousexperienceleading,mentoringorcoordinatingtechnicalcolleagues,withthecommunicationskillstobringoutthebestinateam.
Experienceacrossabroadrangeofthefollowingtechnologieswouldbebeneficial:
- Identityandcollaboration:Microsoft
EntraID,Active Directory,Microsoft
365,Exchange Online,Teamsand Share Point Online . - Networkingandconnectivity:Aruba Central,networkswitching,wirelessinfrastructure,SD-WAN,firewalls,VPNsandsecureremoteaccess.
- Resilienceandoperations: Backup and disaster recovery, vulnerability remediation, penetration testing, security monitoring, incident response and managed detection and response.
- An annual bonus of approximately 10-15%.
- Hybrid working,withjusttwodaysperweekrequiredinthecentral
Bristol office. - Theopportunitytocombinetechnicaldeliverywithgenuineteamleadership.
