Financial Lines Underwriter

Role Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Underwriter to join our successful Financial Lines team  role will be located in Bristol and you will be required to do 3 days a week on site, in the office.

As part of this growth and ambition, we are now looking for a talented, ambitious and passionate underwriting professional to join us on our journey to build a ‘Best in Industry’ team which sets the gold standard within the Allianz Group.

The role will include everything from pricing risks, chasing in new business, and analysing claims data, to implementing bespoke scheme arrangements; including answering day to day queries from Brokers, and ensuring that renewal terms are sent out in accordance with our compliance rules and regulations, developing broker relationships through regular broker visits and collaborating with your colleagues in other departments to support our ambitious growth plans.

Pay:
Circa £45,000. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

You will be responsible for:

• Providing excellent service to our Customers
• Collaborating and building a successful relationship with the Regional and wider UK Financial Lines Team
• Building successful broker relationships
• Achieving agreed financial performance targets
• Collaborating strongly with other departments to achieve the Company's goals in respect of service delivery
• Processing renewals and mid-term adjustments
• Sending out documents to Brokers ensuring that we adhere to compliance and regulation
• Focusing on building broker relationships and driving new business

• Underwrite new business enquiries received by brokers, actively engage in prospecting activities to secure new business growth.
• Experience with Professional Indemnity (PI) and/or Directors and Officers (D&O) Underwriting
• Negotiate within authority and referring where appropriate to maximise customer growth including persuading, influencing and convincing customers of the benefits of an opposed course of action.
• Track record as a confident negotiator, with good influencing skills.
• Build, develop and maintain positive broker relationships.
• A good team player, supportive to others with an enthusiastic and positive attitude
• Highly customer focused with ability to build broker relationships.
• Good influencing and negotiation skills.
• Self‑motivated and able to work on own initiative
• Strong trading skills
