Real Estate - House building & Strategic Land Lawyer - Senior Associate / Managing Associate

Permanent, Full-time (with hybrid flexibility)
Salary: £70,000 to £95,000, depending on experience
You will work closely with senior lawyers and partners within the HSL team, supporting a broad and high profile client base.
Responsibilities include:
- Acting on immediate and strategic land acquisitions across the South/South West and nationally
- Managing day to day conduct of transactions and progressing matters efficiently
- Advising house builders, promoters, developers, landowners, and local authorities
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to team growth
- Collaborating with planning, construction, environmental, agricultural, tax, and litigation specialists
This role is suited to an experienced Real Estate lawyer with:
- 3-8+ years' PQE in residential development, strategic land, or broader real estate
- A strong track record acting for house builders, promoters, developers, or landowners
- Excellent technical skills and commercial awareness
- Established or growing relationships within the regional development market
- Experience with:
- Conditional and unconditional contracts
- Options and promotion agreements
- Golden brick and affordable housing transactions
- Back to back sales and partnership schemes
- Deeds of easement and infrastructure agreements
- Overage, site assembly, and management/service charge arrangements
- Exposure to more complex transactions such as hybrid agreements, collaboration agreements, land pooling, mixed use schemes, PRS, institutional investment, and portfolio acquisitions
- A solid understanding of VAT and SDLT considerations
- A client focused, ambitious, and collaborative approach
