Housing Property Finance Paralegal (Bristol or Birmingham)

Bevan Brittan LLP is recruiting for a Housing Property Finance Paralegal to be based in either the Birmingham or Bristol office. The Housing team acts for Registered Providers and lenders on large-scale funding projects and the mortgaging of properties for lenders.

This role is to support the partners and the wider specialist national team in relation to property finance and housing portfolio work, including large-scale property due diligence projects.

Responsibilities include:

• The preparation of properties to be mortgaged, purchased or sold by seeking title and searches
• Investigating title and reviewing searches
• Draft disclosures for Certificates of Title and other condition precedent documentation as required by the lender
• Compiling high-level and detailed title reports for asset management, sales and acquisitions
• Undertaking land registry investigations and searches
• Collating information and using data platforms for portfolio transactions

You would be part of a growing team of specialist housing finance lawyers, working with support and legal fee earners of varying post-qualification experience, as well as the partners.

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

• Experience in a property department with ability to manage large volumes of property data
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in reviewing and drafting property tables, disclosures and searches; experience with the Land Registry portal and data platforms
• Property finance and/or portfolio transactions experience is preferable; training and ongoing support available
• Social Housing experience is desirable but not essential; interest in the wider Social Housing sector is advantageous
• Collaborative, proactive, enthusiastic and willing to learn
• Experience with Microsoft Excel
• Strong team player, comfortable working in a large team on joint projects
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication, with initiative
