Job Summary

GKN Aerospace is seeking an Indirect Operational Buyer for its Global Technology Centre in Bristol. The role focuses on supporting indirect procurement across the GTC and UK global headquarters, providing operational buying support for categories such as real estate, maintenance, IT, transport and more.

Provide local operational buying support to stakeholders, including raising purchase orders, selecting suppliers and contracts, and ensuring processes run smoothly. Act as the trusted guide for indirect procurement transactions and build closer relationships with stakeholders. Gather and analyse supplier performance feedback to inform category buyers and managers. Own indirect procurement operations at the GTC and UK Centrals, driving quick‑win process improvements and delivering ongoing insights to shape procurement strategy.

• Strong stakeholder and relationship‑management skills.
• Process‑improvement mindset and organisational structure.
• Self‑starter mentality with ambition to build relationships and solve problems.

• Experience as a buyer in mature indirect procurement operations for significant spend (£30M+).
• 3+ years of professional experience (5–7 years ideal).
• Analytics proficiency – pivot tables, VLOOKUP, spend‑management tools.
• Experience in large‑scale manufacturing or heavily regulated industries (aerospace, automotive, pharma, nuclear).
• Degree in a commercial field or APICS/MCIPS qualification preferred.
