Turner & Townsend is one of the leading consultancy providers in the Energy and Natural Resources sector, and we are looking to recruit a Logistics Project Manager to undertake a key role on a high‑profile, South West based Energy Infrastructure project.

The Logistics Assistant Project Manager is responsible for the management of material and equipment logistics as part of a Project Team, ensuring the smooth flow of materials from arrival at various warehouses across the South West to the construction site. This role involves seamless coordination of material deliveries, aligning distribution activities with project timelines, and maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

The role plays a part in driving operational efficiency and streamlining material delivery processes, essential for meeting construction milestones and allocating resources effectively.

• Distribution Strategy:
  Assist the Project Team to oversee and optimize the material distribution strategy.
• Coordination:
  Assist the Project Team to seamlessly coordinate material deliveries to designated areas within the construction site.
• Safety and Compliance:
  Maintain safety and compliance standards in logistics operations.
• Operational Efficiency:
  Drive operational efficiency and streamline material delivery processes; manage process improvement projects with a degree of autonomy.
• Performance Monitoring:
  Monitor performance and compliance of the 3rd Party Logistics organisations, and maintain accurate project reporting to facilitate decision‑making.
• Issue Resolution:
  Address logistical challenges, manage escalations, and provide strategic guidance.

• Logistics Management experience within construction or similar large‑scale projects, or experience working in a Project Management team on projects with logistics challenges.
• Supply Chain Operations experience; familiarity with suppliers and supplier management.
• Compliance:
  Understanding of safety and compliance with relevant standards.
• Problem‑Solving:
  Analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
• Communication:
  Ability to communicate complex issues to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Organizational
  
  Skills:
  
  Strong time management skills.

• Recognised qualifications in project or business management, or industry experience in a construction or energy‑related subject.
• Ideally logistics expertise in a complex highly regulated industry, or project experience containing some logistics challenge.
