Contract: Temporary
Rate: £24.46 per hour (PAYE) | £31.14 per hour (Umbrella)
About the RoleYou will lead a multidisciplinary team delivering parks improvement and investment projects, including landscape works, infrastructure upgrades, and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and habitat enhancement schemes. The role combines strategic oversight, technical landscape expertise, and hands‑on programme management, ensuring projects are delivered to time, budget, and quality standards while engaging positively with stakeholders and local communities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a complex programme of parks, landscape, and BNG enhancement projects
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, financial forecasting, reporting, and governance approvals
- Provide landscape architecture and biodiversity expertise to inform design, delivery, and decision‑making
- Manage and support a multidisciplinary team, allocating resources effectively to meet programme demands
- Guide stakeholder groups and elected members, supporting projects from concept through consultation, procurement, and delivery
- Identify and manage project risks through effective mitigation and contingency planning
- Commission and coordinate internal specialists and external consultants where required
- Provide strategic oversight of BNG enhancement works, including health and safety, maintenance planning, repairs, and future investment needs
- Act as a senior advisor on landscape design, green infrastructure, and biodiversity enhancement across parks and open spaces
- Proven experience managing landscape, parks, environmental, or public realm projects
- Strong knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), habitat enhancement, and sustainable landscape design
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex project programmes
- Confident managing budgets, financial controls, and reporting
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working alongside communities and elected members
- Sound understanding of health and safety, risk management, and public sector governance
- Ability to balance strategic oversight with practical delivery
