Position: Associate Town Planner (Permanent)
Associate/Principal Town Planner - Bristol
Full-time, Office-based
Salary: £40,000-£55,000 (DOE)

An established independent town planning consultancy is seeking an experienced Associate/Principal Town Planner to join its growing Bristol office.

This role offers the opportunity to take a senior position within a collaborative and well-regarded planning team, working on projects across the UK and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident planning professional looking to step into a leadership-focused role, with responsibility for project delivery, client engagement and mentoring junior colleagues.

The Role
The successful candidate will:

· Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of planning projects from inception through to determination

· Provide clear, strategic planning advice to clients, consultants and key stakeholders

· Prepare and oversee high-quality planning applications, supporting statements and appeal submissions

· Represent clients at meetings with local authorities and multidisciplinary project teams

· Support senior leadership with project delivery, workload management and client account development

· Mentor and support junior team members, promoting best practice and professional development

· Contribute to business development activities and the wider profile of the consultancy

About You
Candidates should have:

· Approximately 10 years' professional planning experience (public or private sector)

· MRTPI qualification (essential)

· Strong experience in development management and planning strategy

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining high standards of work

· Strong professional judgement with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
