We're working with a well-established specialist contractor within the ground engineering and remediation sector who are looking to bring in an experienced Commercial Manager to support their continued growth.

This is a key hire for the business and would suit someone with a strong Quantity Surveying background who is comfortable managing contracts and taking ownership of the commercial side of projects from start to finish.

The role:

You'll be responsible for overseeing the commercial performance across a range of projects, working closely with operational teams and senior management.

Key duties will include:

Managing project costs, forecasts and financial reporting
Overseeing contracts (NEC / JCT) and dealing with variations and claims
Leading on final accounts and commercial negotiations
Supporting tenders and pricing
Managing and mentoring junior members of the commercial team
Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

What we're looking for:

A background in Quantity Surveying (degree or equivalent)
Solid experience in a commercial role within construction, civils or groundworks
Good working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts
Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills
Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on Experience in ground engineering, remediation, piling or civil engineering would be a big advantage, but not essential.
