Purpose of the role:

The CViT Team Leader for Cash Collection will provide overall leadership and operational oversight for both the Collections and Vault functions, working closely with the Senior Vault Officer to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient operations across all service areas.

This role is responsible for leading a team of Collection Officers and the Senior Vault Officer to deliver high-quality, reliable, and secure cash collection/delivery and valuables-in-transit (CViT) services in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and regulatory requirements. The position requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and an ability to manage resources effectively across multiple sites and vehicle operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership and Management
    • Manage, motivate, and develop a team of Cash Collection Officers and the Senior Vault Officer ensuring they meet performance expectations and uphold company standards.
    • Conduct regular team briefings, training, and performance reviews to drive accountability, engagement, and improvement.
    • Address staffing issues promptly, including managing absences, ensuring adequate cover, and handling any performance concerns.
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Act as the key point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships to ensure satisfaction with the cash collection/delivery service.
    • Respond proactively to client queries, concerns, or service requests, and escalate any major issues to senior management.
    • Monitor client requirements to ensure the service is aligned with contracts, expectations and SLAs.
  • Audit and Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure all cash collection and vault processes comply with internal and external regulatory requirements, including BS7858 vetting and security protocols.
    • Conduct regular audits of vehicles, cash handling, the vault and team operations to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
    • Maintain accurate records of collections, discrepancies, and audits to support transparency and accountability.
  • Operational Efficiency and Productivity
    • Implement processes to improve the efficiency and productivity of the cash collection and vault operation, ensuring daily schedules and routes are optimised.
    • Monitor performance metrics, ensuring the team meets or exceeds SLAs, productivity targets, and accuracy requirements.
    • Identify and implement improvements to workflows, resource allocation, and systems to enhance operational delivery (Route Planning/Namsy etc)
  • Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
    • Take full ownership of meeting agreed SLAs for cash collections, ensuring clients receive a consistent, reliable, and timely service.
    • Address any service delays or failures, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Vehicle Management
    • Ensure the cash collection fleet is maintained to a high standard, working with the fleet department to schedule servicing, inspections, and repairs.
    • Monitor vehicle usage, charging rate, and safety checks to maintain operational efficiency and compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Address any vehicle-related incidents or concerns promptly, reporting issues to senior management as necessary.
  • Collaboration with Senior Management
    • Work closely with senior management to align operational goals with company strategy and objectives.
