Job Description

We are currently seeking a number of personable, enthusiastic, and energetic Senior Cost Managers / Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our contract and cost management team. The role supports our continuing growth and contributes to UK infrastructure projects.

You will be a Senior Cost Manager within our UK Infrastructure business, working with a variety of clients in the transportation and utilities sectors on Turner & Townsend projects and initiatives.

Key Objectives
  • Establish friendly, professional relationships with clients, colleagues and other parties involved in the projects and programmes we support.
  • Administer a variety of contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies.
  • Provide accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to completion in line with budget.
  • Pro‑actively monitor and manage cost variance and contract cash flow, ensuring that applications are made correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with client and contractor teams to manage the delivery of project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including programme performance, cost control and value engineering.
  • Manage contract change effectively, ensuring that projects remain within governance and adopt best practice.
  • Drive improvements in the accuracy of forecasts and budgets.
  • Proactively provide sound commercial knowledge and support to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
  • Lead people and commissions as needed.

  • Sharing best practice
  • People management experience
  • Commission management skills
  • Ability to identify and drive efficiencies and improvements through the project life cycle
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters such as different procurement routes, value management and value engineering.
  • Ideally a degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
  • Ideally holding or working toward an appropriate professional body membership or equivalent
