Overview

As a Logistics Office Manager at Day Group Ltd, you will be an essential part of managing our logistics and delivery operation, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of materials across our sites and to our customers.

The primary purpose of this role is to assist the Regional Logistics Manager and support colleagues in providing internal and external customers with an excellent standard of service.

Package

Annual salary plus the 9% non-contributory pension with Scottish Widows. You may be entitled to the discretionary Annual and Christmas bonuses. Annual leave of 25 days per year, plus 8 Bank Holidays.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure that the required standards related to health, safety, and the environment are met.

Be responsible for the standard of service; the quality of communication with customers, hauliers and colleagues; business processes; haulage capacity and vehicle utilisation.

Meet with Depot, Commercial and Transport Managers for the assigned depot.

Oversee and monitor the resources, including people, in the assigned office.

Oversee the workload and contribution of each Logistics Coordinator and Supervisor.

Meet with staff on a 1‑2‑1 basis, carry out regular appraisals. This may involve being the Line Manager for some or all of the staff.

Identify opportunities for personal development and training needs.

Person Specification

Demonstrate management and leadership skills.

Attain IOSH Managing Safely certificate.

Be a super‑user of IT systems and an expert on policies and procedures.

Sound knowledge of aggregates and their uses.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and adapt quickly.

Good geographical knowledge, particularly of the local area.

Confident communicator with excellent telephone and written English.

Working Hours/Times

43.75 hours per week, 8.75 hours per day Monday to Friday between the hours of 0600‑1800, plus 45 minutes unpaid for lunch.
