Smiths Equipment Hire Ltd are the Northwest's Largest Independent Equipment Hire Company with 19 Hire It Centres located across the region. We have a fantastic opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic Support Manager to join our Operations team within the Yorkshire area. The role of Support Manager is to support Depots on a day to day basis in the management and smooth running of the team and the Depot itself in the absence of the managers.
The ideal candidate for this role will have Depot / Sales experience and will have a clear understanding of how to work efficiently in a support Manager role. This position requires someone who is a dedicated team player and looking for their next step to progression with Smiths. You will be required to cover at any of our Depots for the Depot Managers in their absent and also get stuck in on the hire desk, so for this role we need someone who has that flexibility and also commitment to support all aspects of the depot.
When covering at Depots, you may be required to cover for various lengths of times. Position Objectives:
Manager all Depot Operations in the absence of the Depot Manager Ensure open quotations are dealt with in a timely manner Chase all late cash hires and keep to a minimum Deal with all loss damages initially and liaise with the Depot Manager Keep Stock replenished at all times Assist the Sales Hire Controller Taking Orders Contract conversions must be 85% above Ensure no equipment is hired under inspection Ensure all telephone calls are handled correctly Improve Hire Protect Sales Contribute to the overall depot sales targets Working hours are Monday - Friday Benefits what we offer you Salary:
