Job Summary
Project & Resource Manager – Bristol. Salary: £56,209 – £58,820 per annum plus a generous Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension.
This role works closely with project teams and senior leaders to ensure key projects are planned, resourced, and delivered throughout their lifecycle. You will coordinate activity across multiple work streams, maintain oversight of progress, and proactively resolve issues and manage risks.
Responsibilities- Shape work that directly benefits students by ensuring that some of OfS’s most important projects deliver meaningful impact.
- Ensure projects are well‑planned, properly resourced, and delivered effectively, enabling teams and senior leaders to take informed decisions and keeping complex work on track.
- Connect work across individual projects, supporting cross‑organisational alignment and ensuring value for the taxpayers and institutions that fund our work.
- Influence senior stakeholders and champion effective delivery, helping to embed consistent, confident project management approaches across the organisation.
- Be encouraged to innovate, improve, and apply a range of delivery methodologies in an environment that supports continuous learning.
- Substantial experience leading complex projects with end‑to‑end delivery responsibility.
- Deep expertise across a range of project and operational delivery methodologies and the judgment to deploy the right tools and techniques.
- Ability to coach and support others to build programme delivery capability.
- Confidence in engaging senior stakeholders and facilitating purposeful discussions.
- Skill in delivering difficult messages with tact and ensuring decisions are implemented.
- Understanding of the wider organisational context, interdependencies, and risk anticipation.
- Proactive, autonomous, and able to drive progress without close supervision.
- Comfortable operating in uncertain environments and adapting quickly as priorities change.
- Commitment to continuous learning, constructive reflection, and development of delivery capability across teams.
In addition to the salary, you will receive a Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension. Flexible working arrangements may be available, including hybrid working and part‑time or job share options.
