All manufacturing processes are completed in-house, from design and fabrication through to assembly and testing. The business is currently entering an exciting period of growth and investment, with plans to expand its capabilities, services, and market presence. This presents an excellent opportunity for a motivated CNC professional looking to develop their career within a forward-thinking and ambitious engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines. Producing high-quality components from detailed engineering drawings. Machining fabricated components and assemblies to tight tolerances. Working with a range of materials, including exotic-grade alloys. Selecting appropriate tooling, work-holding methods, and machining strategies. Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the ongoing development of the manufacturing department.
Essential Requirements Time-served machinist with post-qualification experience in a precision engineering environment. Ability to program HAAS and/or Heidenhain controls. Experience using CAD/CAM programming software. Proven background machining fabricated components. Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances. Knowledge of tooling selection, work-holding techniques, and cutting strategies. Commitment to maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and Quality. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Desirable Requirements Experience using Fusion 360 software. Knowledge of other CNC manufacturing processes such as waterjet cutting, laser cutting, or CNC turning. Basic CAD design experience. Forklift Truck licence/certification. Full UK Driving Licence. Salary & Benefits Up to £18.97 per hour (depending on experience). Overtime available and paid at 1.5x standard rate. 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays. Ongoing training and personal development opportunities.
