Location:

Bristol. Salary: £35,100 per annum. Type of position: permanent.

Working hours:

We are now seeking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter for a busy manufacturing company based in Bristol. The appropriate candidate will be involved in the building of commercial vehicles.

• Fit and fabricate metal components and structures according to specifications and drawings.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and production.
• Operate various metal‑working equipment, including cutting machines, vertical drilling, bending machines and grinders.
• Assemble and install mechanical components and structures.
• Work to engineering drawings.
• Make measurements using engineering measurement instruments such as engineer's square, vernier caliper, micrometer, gauges, DTI, angle finder etc.

• Previous experience in fitting and fabricating.
• Proven track record of producing high‑quality mechanical components.
• Strong knowledge of precision fitting and fabricating techniques, including the use of measuring equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams and specifications.
• Excellent hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Physical stamina to work in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
• Preferable but non‑essential experience in vehicle body building.
• Experience in welding techniques also advantageous.
