Manual Machinist

• Operate and set up manual centre lathes to produce high-quality, precision components.
• Perform turning, milling, and fitting operations to tight tolerances.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Measure and inspect finished parts using precision tools to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Maintain machines and equipment to ensure optimum performance and reliability.

We are looking for a time-served Manual Machinist / Turner to join our client's skilled machine shop. If you take pride in precision engineering & manufacturing, enjoy working on manual machines, and have a high standard of workmanship, this may be of interest to you.

Time-served Turner or Toolmaker with proven manual machining experience.

• Strong proficiency in setting up and operating manual centre lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Competent in precision measurement and inspection techniques.
• Solid understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
• Responsible approach to machine maintenance and workplace safety.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, organised, and a positive team player with a can-do attitude.

Relevant technical qualifications or apprenticeships are advantageous.

Desire to learn new skills, including CNC machining.
