Salary: £33,500 - £41,500 per annum
Shift: Rotating Double Day Shift
THOMAS Professional is recruiting an experienced CNC Miller - Setter/Operator to join an established precision engineering manufacturer based in Bristol.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Miller who is confident setting and operating CNC milling machines and producing complex precision components to tight tolerances.
The position operates on a rotating double day shift, alternating between early and late shifts, with an early finish on Fridays.
The Role
As a CNC Miller - Setter/Operator, your responsibilities will include:
Setting and operating 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling machines
Working with Heidenhain and/or Fanuc controls
Producing complex precision components from a range of materials
Setting tools, fixtures and work offsets
Setting work offsets using probes and manual methods
Selecting and installing appropriate cutting tools and tool holders
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
Monitoring machining processes and making adjustments where required
Inspecting components to ensure dimensional accuracy
Working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards
Ensuring components are produced efficiently and within planned production times
Supporting continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment
Completing relevant production and setup documentation
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with:
Previous experience setting and operating CNC milling machines
Experience with 3, 4 and/or 5-axis machining
Good working knowledge of Heidenhain and/or Fanuc controls
The ability to set CNC milling machines independently
Confidence reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Good understanding of tooling, work holding and offsets
Experience working to tight tolerances
Experience using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and plug gauges
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Previous experience within precision engineering or a highly regulated manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
