Forklift Operator, Material Handler, Manufacturing & Industrial Operations
Reed is supporting a well-established manufacturing business with the recruitment of a Mixing Operative to join their team in Warmley, Bristol (BS30).
This is an opportunity for someone with experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or industrial environment who is looking to join a stable and growing business.
Previous mixing or chemical handling experience is not essential, as full training will be provided.
The employer is keen to speak with candidates who have experience working safely within a manufacturing setting, used a forklift and following procedures and quality standards. The successful candidate will join a small team and play a key role in producing high-quality blends, supporting production schedules, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce blends and mixes in accordance with company Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare materials and samples for quality control testing.
- Handle bulk materials and products using appropriate equipment.
- Operate production machinery safely and efficiently.
- Work to production schedules and ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Maintain accurate records where required.
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping across the production area.
- Comply with all health, safety and PPE requirements.
- Support warehouse and production activities as required.
- Work closely with colleagues to maintain a smooth operational workflow.
About You
We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have experience within:
- Manufacturing or production environments.
- Warehouse or industrial settings.
- Operating machinery or production equipment.
- Following health and safety procedures and SOPs.
- Working within fast-paced operational environments.
- Forklift operation, particularly Counterbalance trucks.
You'll also have:
- A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence, or previous forklift experience.
- Good communication skills.
- A strong awareness of health and safety.
- The ability to work independently once trained.
- A positive and reliable attitude.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A flexible approach to supporting wider warehouse and production duties.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pmOptional earlier starts available at 7:00am or 7:30am, allowing an earlier finish
Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Salary & Benefits
- £14.42 per hour.
- Permanent, full-time position.
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.
- Holiday entitlement increases to 25 days after 3 years' service.
