Ink Room Operative

Job Purpose
: The Ink Room Operative is responsible for supporting production operations through the effective management, preparation, mixing, and supply of inks, coatings, and related consumables. The role ensures materials are available in line with production requirements while maintaining high standards of quality, stock control, safety, housekeeping, and operational efficiency.

Main Duties:

Ink Preparation and Colour Management

• Coordinate colour matching activities and maintain approved colour standards.
• Create and maintain records for new ink formulations and products.
• Verify colour standards and product specifications prior to production.
• Monitor ink performance and arrange corrective action, reformulation, or re-matching where required.
• Support production teams with colour adjustments and troubleshooting when necessary.

Production Planning Support

• Review production schedules and prepare inks, coatings, and associated materials in advance of manufacturing requirements.
• Ensure all materials required for upcoming production runs are available, identified, and ready for use.
