As an Account Director at Headland, you’ll take a lead role in managing client accounts and delivering high-impact work across a range of issues that matter. You’ll act as a day-to-day adviser to clients, contribute to strategy and execution, and help build and nurture a collaborative, high-performing team.
From day one, you will:- Lead the day-to-day running of client accounts, ensuring work is well-planned, delivered on time, and to a high standard
- Draft communications plans and materials with confidence and clarity
- Shape media strategies and build strong relationships with journalists and stakeholders
- Contribute to new business opportunities, including research and proposal development
- Collaborate with senior team members to ensure a joined-up and strategic approach
- Support junior colleagues by offering constructive feedback and mentoring
- Help manage team workloads to ensure they are balanced and sustainable
- A strong background in corporate communications and media engagement
- Experience building trusted relationships with clients and colleagues
- Confidence in writing and editing clear, engaging communications materials
- Awareness of the media and political landscape and how it influences reputation
- A collaborative, inclusive, and proactive approach to teamwork
- A commitment to high-quality delivery and supporting the development of others
- Interest in using digital and social platforms as part of modern communications
- A commercial mindset and understanding of client and agency operations
Experience working across retail, energy, finance, or with household brand names is a bonus — but not essential.
