Citizens Advice offers confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person, for free. Through our national network of charities, we give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward - whoever they are, and whatever their problem.

About the team

Our Brand and Marketing team is responsible for engaging and influencing a wide range of external audiences through impactful communications. We deliver integrated campaigns across social media, our website, blogs, events and paid media to build trust in the Citizens Advice brand and protect our reputation.

As part of the External Affairs department, we work alongside our Media and Public Affairs teams to position Citizens Advice as a trusted expert, an inclusive advice provider, a credible advocate and a valued partner. Together, we help achieve organisational goals and drive positive social change.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Brand and Marketing, you'll play a key role in delivering our organisational brand and marketing strategy. You'll help develop and execute integrated, national campaigns that raise awareness of our services, strengthen our reputation and support wider organisational objectives.

As a steward of the Citizens Advice brand, you'll ensure our identity, messaging and positioning remain consistent across all channels while leading initiatives that increase visibility, build trust and encourage people to use and support our services.

This is a varied role combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You'll use audience insight and performance data to shape campaigns, ensuring our communications are relevant, accessible and impactful. Working collaboratively across External Affairs and the wider organisation, you'll help influence perceptions of Citizens Advice and ensure our brand continues to resonate with the people who need us most.

About you

You'll bring:

  • Significant experience in brand management and integrated marketing.
  • A track record of developing and delivering successful multi-channel campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of brand governance and reputation management.
  • Experience using audience insights and data to inform strategy and evaluate performance.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to influence colleagues at all levels.
  • A passion for delivering meaningful work that creates positive social impact.

Do you want to work for an organisation that makes a difference, every single day, to people from all walks of life? The people that turn to Citizens Advice need help overcoming an obstacle in their lives - from debt to evictions to trouble at work - and you can be key to them getting the support they need in the quickest, easiest, and most effective way.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is of strategic importance within the organisation and recognised as integral to all we do as a service.

Central to pursuing our EDI mission is building diverse and inclusive teams in which everyone has a sense of belonging. We believe inclusion is a social justice issue - a principle that underpins our all EDI work. To that end, we particularly welcome applications from people we would like to see better represented in our organisation and sector - people of colour, LGBTQ+ people and disabled people.

We follow the social model of disability. We will offer an interview to disabled candidates who indicate they wish their application to be considered under our Disability Confident Interview Commitment where they meet our selection criteria in their application. Some of our roles attract a high volume of applications and in some circumstances where it is not practicable or appropriate, we may limit the number of interviews offered to disabled and non-disabled candidates.

We will provide reasonable adjustments as needed.

We’re a flexible employer, so this role may suit anyone who’d prefer a flexible arrangement to help their work/life balance, many of our colleagues spend most of their time working…
