Fare Share South West (FSSW) joins the dots between food waste and food insecurity, using food to build community resilience for lasting social impact.
We rescue quality surplus food at scale directly from the food industry and share it with charities, schools and community hubs to support health, dignity and routes out of poverty for people across the south west. Our supportive volunteering and employability programmes support people to thrive.
Fare Share South West is an independent local charity, working in partnership with the national charity Felix who support us with food, projects and campaigning for an equitable, sustainable food system.
Purpose of the RoleFare Share South West’s (FSSW) fundraising need and strategy has developed and diversified rapidly in line with major growth since 2017. As a charity we annually raise over £1m in fund raised income from trusts and foundations, corporate donations, individual donors, major donors, community fundraising and events. The Grants Officer (GO) will work with the Grants Manager (GM) to secure income from trusts and foundations.
The GO is responsible for securing income for capital and revenue-based projects, from both existing and new funders. They will lead on many smaller funding applications to grant‑making trusts and foundations and will be responsible for developing relationships, prospecting for new opportunities and reporting back to funders. They will support the GM on larger funding applications to achieve team targets.
