Paediatric Staff Nurse – Daisy Ward

We are looking for experienced Band 5 Staff Nurses to join Daisy Ward, a 10‑bed unit with a 6‑bed Neurosurgical, Trauma and Burns High Dependency Unit and a 4‑bed Burns Unit. The role requires completed preceptorship and experience in critical care or burns nursing.
Ideal Candidate- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to forge and maintain relationships with clinical and non‑clinical staff
- Ability to manage a busy workload, prioritise and make decisions quickly
Responsibilities include providing high‑quality nursing care in a high‑dependency and burns environment, supporting the multidisciplinary team, teaching, supervision, and ensuring patient safety.
Training & Qualifications- RSCN/RN child branch (NMC registered) or equivalent
- Current NMC registration
- Work toward relevant university accredited post‑basic study programmes, e.g., teaching and assessing course
- Broad knowledge and experience of clinical nursing practice within a hospital environment
- Interest in the clinical area
- Experience of taking charge
- Experience of teaching
- Competence in clinical skills relevant to the clinical area
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with patients, carers and MDT
- Competence in calculations for safe administration of medicines/fluids
- Ability to take the lead and ensure appropriate action in response to deteriorating patients
- Clinical decision making ability
- Teaching and supervisory skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Professional conduct
- Self‑motivated, team player, recognition of own limits
