Registered Nurse – School Age Vaccination Team (NHS AfC Band
5)

Fixed-term contract – 7 months (01 September 2026 to 31 March 2027). Annualised hours of 22.5 per week, with higher weekly hours in the first 12 weeks to meet seasonal demand. Flexible working across 3‑5 days is available.

St Annes Primary Care Centre, Blackpool – with travel across the Blackpool, Wyre, Fylde and Lancaster localities.

• Promote and deliver the National Vaccination Programme in schools, nurseries and community settings.
• Gain telephone consents from parents for their child’s vaccinations.
• Deliver immunisations to eligible school‑age children as directed by NHS England and Public Health England.
• Provide services in all schools and community clinics where required.
• Work flexibly and travel across the Trust footprint, including Morecambe Bay and the Fylde Coast.
• Plan and manage programme activities in advance, remaining responsive to service needs.

• Registered Nurse.
• Current valid NMC registration.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car.

• Understanding of children’s health needs.
• Experience working across professional boundaries and multi‑agency teams.
• Knowledge of the routine childhood vaccination programme.
• Experience in community working, particularly with children.
• Familiarity with the consent process and data reporting.

• IT literacy.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Autonomous, flexible and team‑oriented working style.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality.
• Ability to travel across sites.

A DBS check will be required as part of the pre‑employment process. Candidates will be required to repay the cost of the check via salary deduction.
