Position: Forensic Nurse Examiner (SA Services) – Band 6/7
About the Role We are seeking compassionate and highly skilled Forensic Nurse Examiners to join specialist services providing care to individuals who have experienced sexual assault. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver trauma-informed clinical care while undertaking forensic medical examinations and supporting the collection and preservation of forensic evidence. Key Responsibilities Conduct forensic medical examinations in accordance with national guidelines and local protocols. Collect, document and preserve forensic evidence accurately and securely. Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care with sensitivity and professionalism. Assess and document injuries and relevant clinical findings. Provide safeguarding support and make appropriate referrals where necessary. Offer advice and treatment relating to sexual health, emergency contraception and follow-up care where appropriate.

Maintain comprehensive and accurate clinical records. Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, police and other partner agencies while maintaining patient confidentiality. Requirements Registered Nurse with current NMC registration. Previous experience in forensic nursing, sexual assault services, emergency care or a related specialty. Training or experience in forensic evidence collection is desirable. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and trauma-informed practice.
