About the Role

Join the Primary Care team at HMP Eastwood Park, a female prison with a capacity of 400 near Bristol, as a part‑time Senior Primary Care Nurse (25 hours).

Hours

25 hours per week, arranged as 2 long days (23 hours) and a catch‑up shift. Typical shift times: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Salary

Annual pro‑rated salary between £43,609 – £49,175 dependent on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver nursing‑led services and prevent hospital admissions
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, respond to emergencies, assess patients and conduct reception screening
  • Provide evidence‑based care with patient feedback, ensuring personalised, informed care
  • Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference
  • Forge strong links with partners and stakeholders, building trust and confidence in the service
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence‑based care and continuous quality improvement, fostering shared learning
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to support safe care and team performance

Qualifications
  • Registered nurse – Adult
  • Current NMC registration
  • Experience in line management, audits and governance
  • Mentoring assessor qualification and prescribing – desirable
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Understanding of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working
  • Experience in hospital, community or prison setting (desirable)
