We are delighted to be partnering with leading NHS organisations to recruit a Specialist Nurse - Oncology.

This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse with a passion for cancer care to join a dedicated oncology team delivering exceptional patient-centred services.

As a Specialist Nurse within Oncology, you will play a pivotal role in supporting patients throughout their cancer pathway, providing expert clinical care, education and advocacy while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to oncology patients across their cancer treatment journey.
  • Undertake comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualised care plans.
  • Provide specialist advice, support and education to patients, families and carers.
  • Administer and manage oncology treatments in line with clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Act as a key point of contact for patients, ensuring continuity and coordination of care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with professional and organisational standards.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration.
  • Previous experience working within Oncology or Cancer Services.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the physical and psychological impact of cancer and its treatment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Strong clinical assessment, prioritisation and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care.
  • Knowledge of current clinical governance, safeguarding and patient safety principles.
  • Evidence of specialist knowledge in cancer care pathways and symptom management.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Cancer Nursing (e.g. Level 6/7).
  • Experience working as a Specialist Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), or equivalent.
  • SACT qualification or experience supporting systemic anti-cancer therapy services.
